as far as i know most covers on european mangas are the original ones, i have no comparison regarding translation and the original art but i guess they're close to the original, most mangas even get published in japanese reading order from back to front.

French edition was first published with other -ugly- unremovable covers, up to book 4 (like others books from Glenat, the editor).
Then they decided to change and use the original removable covers for all their publications.

So if someone wants to buy french edition, you may find book 1 to 4 with ugly or new covers (book 5 to 10, as well as Noise, have only the original covers).

I donned my Silicon Creature shirt i got with the OVA and went to borders(book store) today to buy the manga. Read it kinda fast (i have a hard time slowing down). I like it much better than the scanlations, feels better as a tangible object. Yeah, Tokyopop did cut a few mm off of the sides of the wider panels :( . I may buy the japanese version just for collection purposes(i'm the typical monolingal american). :ivy:

I found a store that carries the JP version, and i have volumes one and seven (they're missing 2-6 and 10). it's definately worth the buy. For some reason it's just better to see the original how the artist wanted.

P.S.: Sweet!, my emoticon got added! I'll try and make more later.

I'm glad to hear that I have the new edition, with the removable cover, which I find nice. The removable cover is in color while the cover is monochome, and the constrast between the two is nice to look at.

My friend was in tokyo last month and bought all 10 volumes for me (even though I already had the tenth given to me by tsutomu nihei himself). It was very nice of him to even think of me being in such an exciting place. All I need now is Noise. I'll worry about all those other ones when they get all sorted out and finished. I wish they would publish a one shot volume or something that would have all his little stories like Zeb Noid, Deadheads, Blame Academy, etc.
